AMA Motorcycle Museum Gearing Up For 2008 Hall of Fame Event

The AMA 2008 Hall of Fame inductions and Concours d’Elegance weekend will be held October 10 and 11th. The event takes place on the grounds of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio.

The Weekend kicks off Friday, October 10 with “Evening of Stars and Legends”, a gala reception for the Class of 2008. Saturday, October 11th is the 7th Annual Concours d’Elegance which is one of the nation’s largest by-invitation-only shows of classic and collectible motorcycles.

The Annual Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum Concours d’Elegance is a juried show where only the most compelling original or painstakingly restored vintage motorcycles are invited to participate. Last year, more than 100 exceptional motorcycles spanning all eras and marques vied for trophies and honors.

In addition to competing for the coveted Jim Davis Best in Show Award, top restored and un-restored machines in each of the following classes will be honored:

* American to 1953
* American 1954-1975
* British to 1964
* British 1965-1975
* European to 1964
* European 1965-1975
* Japanese to 1970
* Japanese 1971-1975
* Competition to 1969
* Competition 1970-1975
* Specials & Customs
* Penton Retrospective

Judging begins at 11 a.m. and awards will be presented at 3 p.m.
