Police To Check Bikes At Motorcycle Rally

DOT Motorcycle Helmet StickerTV news stations across Upstate NY and biker’s news sites across the country are abuzz tonight with the news that the NY State Police are stepping up patrols and will be setting up mandatory checkpoints along highways leading to and from the Lake George, NY area in prior to and during the upcoming Americade Rally.

According to the reports, the police will be checking for unsafe tires, improper exhaust pipes, and valid licenses. They will also be checking helmets to make sure every biker has DOT certified protective hear gear.

The check points are reported to have started Friday, May 30th and are planned to continue through the end of the rally next Saturday – June 7th, 2008.

    Once again a meanless law that should be the “option” of the individual rider(s) what they wear! Let’s start enforcing more of the laws that are getting bikers KILLED! Like how many times have you been pulled out in front of?!
